My dad used to say "the secret to success is keeping the screwdrivers out of the engineers hands"... He was a hell of a tech and an engineer himself... the old high speed CMOS stuff for oil exporation
this image is A.K.A. "There are four lights!"... If you get the that then you are also Trekkie... really five lights in this though... Sort of started from the original "Theli-at" tutorial by bib993 (great artist) [link] . To see the shadows (critical) you will need to open the "post process" tab, click on "ambient shadows" and "calculate now".. shadows, reflection, etc. are done after the main render but the values are there (should be) in the params... Spent a LOT of time experimenting here... there was a "texture" I wanted to get and the image started off with quite a bit of noise... The really proficient guys probably look at some of my stuff and shake their heads... ... but hey... I'm tryin and this was a fun one...
just need to make time... my first attempts at reflections on that one did not go well... but I've gotten some REALLY interesting images with negative scale boxes on it... look for "revisions" in the near future... take care..
yep... I've actually been tinkering with that particular image on and off... Have wanted to include some reflection since day one, but was more concerned with a smooth render.. been having some good results, but not "the" one ya know?... never be afraid to express an opinion with me... I take it all to heart.. (whether I do it or not is a different story )
on this piece but it's my opinion!!!
